Pukapu and Ms. Carrot

Somewhere in the universe, far away from this earth, there is a peaceful,

lush planet without conflict.
There are no humans, but all the animals and plants, much like those on earth, live together in harmony.
The little frog boy who lives there is very curious and loves fun and excitement!
However, this peaceful planet lacks a little stimulation.
One day, the little frog boy runs away from the planet in search of adventure.
This is a story told by Pukapu, a frog who loves such adventures.

Pukapu has a very good friend. Her name is Carrot.
It seems that even on Puka-Poo's planet, carrots do not talk or move, but stay still in the soil.
But somehow, Mr. Carrot is smarter than other carrots, walking and talking.
He can travel, work part-time, cook rice, and more.

Mr. Carrot has a rather annoying habit.
He has his own home, but when he gets tired or sleepy,

he goes out of his way to doze off in the carrot field.
Since it is a root vegetable, the root part must be a carrot.

They hide in the soil and go to sleep,

so they are almost indistinguishable from other carrots.
So, in the beginning, Pukapu was in a great hurry to find them.
But we have known each other for a long time, so we are used to it.
Recently, he has started pulling out carrots from the carrot field to look for Mr. Carrot.

Today, again, Mr. Carrot, who had promised to play with him,

seemed to have dozed off.
Pukapoo came to the carrot field to call for Ms. Carrot.
This year seems to be a bumper crop,

and there are so many carrots that it is harder than usual to find them.

It was a bit of a pain to look for carrots in this field of carrots as far as the eye could see, but Pukapoo decided to pull them out one by one as usual.
As usual, Pukapu decided to pull out the carrots one by one.
Pulling out the carrots is hard work, but Puka-Poo is determined to play.

This is the last one. This must be Ms. Carrot.
Puka-poo suddenly felt motivated to pull out the carrot.
He put all his strength into pulling out the carrot.

Almost there, almost carrots! Just then,
the carrot was almost ready to come out.
The carrots were pulled out and soared high into the sky, whereupon

Mr. Crow grabbed them and took them away.
He must have been planning to take it home and eat it.
Pukapoo couldn't stand still when he thought so.

However, the other party is in the sky, and Pukapoo cannot fly.
Pukapoo desperately tries to appeal to the crow,

but the crow keeps going farther and farther away.
The cawing of the crows is getting quieter and quieter.

Pukapu became very sad when he thought that

Ms. Carrot was going to be eaten.
As he stood alone in the carrot field with tears in his eyes,

he heard a gentle voice calling his name.

I heard a gentle voice calling my name, "Pukapu."

 It was Ms. Carrot.
It seems that Mr. Carrot was on his way to Pukapoo's house ahead of him.
Pukapu didn't know that and went to the carrot field to look for Mr. Carrot.
So, they got on the wrong side of each other.

"Why are you crying?"

Pukau was too embarrassed to answer.

Thus, Pukapu was able to meet Carrot again and
They went to play together again.
Carrot's habit of dozing off is a problem, but Pukau loves Carrot.
Since they don't get to see each other very often, they are very happy when they do.
